Best Matchups

  •  Restoration Druid 52.3% WR (25,452 matches). A good matchup by win rate, but Restoration Druid is generally not your best kill target (17.8% kill rate). You will usually want to look for the kill on their teammate.
  •  Marksmanship Hunter 53.9% WR (17,988 matches). Expect to win this one consistently. Marksmanship Hunter is a strong kill target with a 64.1% first death rate.
  •  Beast Mastery Hunter 51% WR (22,760 matches). Winning this matchup consistently. Beast Mastery Hunter is a viable kill target at 46.3%, though swapping to their teammate can work too.

Worst Matchups

  •  Frost Mage 45.7% WR (31,564 matches). One of the harder matchups. Against Frost Mage you die first at 49.3%, so saving defensive cooldowns early is key.
  •  Preservation Evoker 46.6% WR (18,039 matches). Preservation Evoker is a problem matchup. You are dying first 44.4% of the time, which makes it hard to get anything going.
  •  Holy Paladin 46.9% WR (21,756 matches). One of the harder matchups. Against Holy Paladin you die first at 46%, so saving defensive cooldowns early is key.

3v3 comp versatility is limited: rank 28 of 36 specs with winning comps.

Common Mistakes

The most frequent mistakes  Subtlety Rogue players make in ranked Solo Shuffle matches from the last 30 days, based on automated combat-log analysis.

Fell below 35% health but could have used Crimson Vial earlier. Minor defensives are meant to be cycled, not sat on. If you're sitting on Barkskin while you drop from 80% to 30%, you missed out on damage reduction that would have kept you in a healthy range and given your healer breathing room. The damage that drops you low is usually the damage you could have reduced with the defensive you never pressed.

Used Kick but did not interrupt anyone. Missing your kick is bad on two levels. First, your interrupt is on cooldown for 15 to 24 seconds depending on your class, so you can't stop anything dangerous that comes next. Second, because of Precognition, the enemy player is now uninterruptible for a few seconds. So not only can you not kick them, your teammates can't either. They just get to freecast. If you're a melee tunneling a caster, your interrupt is one of the main reasons you're even a threat to them. Casters already have an inherent advantage because they can position wherever they want and always deal damage. If you're getting faked constantly, you're removing one of the tools that makes you dangerous to them. You don't want to be the kind of player that's easy to fake. You need to play the mind game properly and not be so predictable that casters just bait your kick every time.

Blind was available for over 90 seconds without use. Arena matches can last just a couple of minutes. Some end in under one. If you're holding onto your CC and not getting it out quickly, you're not building momentum fast enough. The teams that win are usually the ones getting the most CC out, the most offensive usage, the ones that get stuff going straight away. Every CC you use is a chance to swing momentum your way, force a trinket, or lock someone down long enough to create a kill window. If you're sitting on your crowd control, you're missing out on additional uses over the course of the game. The total number of times you use your CC matters, and holding it for too long cuts directly into that.
